Ukraine, calling on Poland to punish those responsible for the recent spillage of a shipment of Ukrainian grain at the border, saw its request emphasized by Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov on Monday. On the other hand, protesters destroyed around 160 tons of grain in Poland, an act that was classified as the result of “impunity and irresponsibility”.

Additionally, Kubrakov expressed on the social network X that it is in the interest of both states, described by him as civilized and friendly, to find, neutralize and punish the guilty parties. Meanwhile, Polish farmers have been protesting, blocking borders and roads, against Ukrainian competition and EU regulations, culminating in more incidents of spilled grain at the border last week.

Zelenskiy defends relations with Poland in the face of border blockades and economic losses

Zelenskiy highlighted ties to Poland and promised to defend businesses affected by border blockades by Polish protesters.

“Unfortunately, the blockade continues,” Ukrainian border service spokesman Andriy Demchenko said on television. In total, 2,200 trucks are queued on Polish territory and farmers are allowing several vehicles to pass in both directions. On the other hand, trucks coming from Ukraine are more blocked, as highlighted.

Ukraine has expressed that the blockade has caused serious economic losses and harmed its war effort. Furthermore, the war with Russia has intensified cross-border transport, says Kiev, due to the blocking routes in the Black Sea.
