Turkey and Brazil remain the main importers of diesel and gas oil from Russia by sea since European Union sanctions banned the import of Russian refined products, according to data from market sources and LSEG.
Before the full EU embargo was implemented in February 2023, Europe was Russia's biggest buyer.

Brazilian imports from Russia fell last month to around 0.5 million tonnes, compared to 0.63 million tonnes in February.
Traders attributed the drop to a seasonal reduction in demand and ample supply of fuel Russian in previous months.
Brazil also imported around 0.7/mi ton of diesel from Algeria, Kuwait, the Netherlands and the USA in March. And after 0.45/mi ton in February, according to data.
Russian diesel exports to Africa decreased from 0.84 to 0.73 million tons last month. Libya, Tunisia, Senegal, Ghana and Egypt were among the top importers, according to shipment data.
Meanwhile, around 0.5 million tons of diesel loaded in March at the Baltic port of Primorsk, in Russia, still have no final destination.
