Terra Legal should issue 12 thousand titles in 2017

12 thousand titles are expected to be issued by the Terra Legal Program for this year, a projection that was calculated based on the number of area regularization processes in the nine states that comprise the Legal Amazon. The information was released at the closing of the Terra Legal Program Planning Workshop, last Friday (17), in Cuiabá. The heads of regional offices met for three days to enhance the allocation of federal public properties, through the alignment of this task force that makes the dream of owning land a reality.

The director of the Extraordinary Subsecretariat for Land Regularization in the Legal Amazon (Serfal) of the Special Secretariat for Family Agriculture and Agrarian Development (Sead), Sorrival Lima, was in charge of organizing the meeting and states that the event exceeded expectations and everyone was committed to transform 2017 into the year of the degree.

“There is a target of twelve thousand titles to be issued this year. This will be possible with everyone’s alignment and unity. Just put into practice what was discussed during these days and fulfill the pact. The car is on the tracks and will move. We also believe that MP 759 will help a lot and we will make a revolution in the titling of the Legal Amazon”, he guarantees.

Participants were divided into groups to guide the operational planning of each state, covering topics such as urban and rural titling, cartography, registration and administration. Everyone had the opportunity to review the land regularization process, being invited to improve each stage through the exchange of experience among themselves and also with experts.

“We divided the event into islands so that each regional unit could talk better with different areas and be able to identify difficulties in finding solutions. We discussed personnel, resources, equipment and referrals were made on each island. There was no lack of knowledge and agreement, explains the Serfal undersecretary.

There are twelve regional offices spread across the Legal Amazon and around 50 task force leaders were present. For the head of the Mato Grosso division, Ronaldo Miguel Leite Filho, holding the annual workshop is essential for the continuity of the work.

“Every year we do this work of evaluating goals, meeting last year and projecting for the year to come. The idea is always to speed up the titling process and we remain very optimistic”, he highlights.

In addition to Serfal, the event was held through the National Superintendency of Land Regularization in the Legal Amazon (SRFA) of the National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform (Incra), in partnership with the German agency Deustche Geselischaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).

“The program is evolving in terms of planning and we are aware of the mistakes and successes. This workshop is a unique opportunity to agree on our action and get closer to Brasília. May it be the year in which we will produce more and overcome the challenge of promoting access to land in family farming”, says GIZ consultant, Rogério Cabral.
