The price of soybeans on the Chicago Grain Exchange recorded a drop of 5.50 cents in the September/16 contract on Wednesday (31.08), closing at US$ 9.60 per bushel. The November/16 contract fell by 7.75 Dollar cents, while the January/17 contract depreciated by 7.50 Dollar cents.
The North American soybean market closed the month with another session of heavy losses in the main futures prices, suffering a total devaluation of 7% in August. The scenario, which was already bearish, was worsened by sales to adjust positions by investors at the end of the period.
