According to reports from Bolsa de Rosário, the provinces of Santa Fé, Buenos Aires and Entre Ríos are the ones that had the main productions affected. Of the 56 million tons for corn, technicians have now projected that only 48 million tons will be harvested. In the case of soybeans, 5 million tons were cut, now reaching an estimated 40 million tons.
“Producers are going through this situation with concern and, in some cases, despair, faced with millionaire losses as a result of underselling or facing the death of their animals or projections of stunted or truncated harvests”, said producers linked to the Federation of Rural Associations of Entre Ríos (FARER), highlighting that the drought that is ravaging this province is historic.
According to market analysts, this entire scenario could trigger triggers in the prices of the two main commodities exported by the neighboring country. The situation will be reassessed after the rains that began last weekend and are expected to spread over the next few days, but in the form of storms.
