Finnish renewable fuel producer Neste has ordered storage capacity for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable diesel. This order was placed at Vopak's Los Angeles terminal in California. Vopak is one of the leading infrastructure providers in the energy sector.
The company said on September 27 that the change was an important step. This expands the availability of Neste's renewable fuels, such as Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel and Neste My Renewable Diesel, in Southern California.
Located at the Port of Los Angeles, Vopak's Los Angeles Terminal is well connected to fuel logistics via ships, barges, trucks and pipelines, according to Neste.
“Our cooperation with Vopak is exemplary. We demonstrate how repurposing fuel distribution infrastructure can accelerate the transition to renewable energy. Annika Tibbe, Interim President of Neste USA, emphasized this.”
