The regulatory procedures related to RenovaBio are being addressed, which leads us to believe that the program should start operating in December, highlighted the director of ANP, Aurélio Amaral, in a panel at the 19th DATAGRO International Conference on Sugar and Ethanol, this Monday (28), in São Paulo (SP).
Also participating in the panel, the president of the Sugarcane Industry Unionsugar (Unica), Evandro Gussi, said that the implementation of RenovaBio will make the sugar-energy sector enter the services segment, starting to offer four products.
Today, according to Gussi, the segment produces sugar, ethanol and bioelectricity, and with RenovaBio it will start to offer a service to society, which is the proof of carbon removal through CBios. According to the director, the challenge with the full operation of RenovaBio will be to make CBios recognized as an efficient market mechanism for reducing emissions and removing carbon.
Another panelist, the director of the Biofuels Department of the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), Miguel Ivan Oliveira, emphasized that RenovaBio has the potential to become the largest environmental service model in the country. Also participating in the panel, the sales and marketing director of Tereos, Gustavo Leite Segantini, highlighted that the trend is for CBios to start being commercialized with high liquidity.
