Producers in Mato Grosso started planting last week. According to data from the Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea), until last Friday (23), sowing was at a more advanced stage in the West region, reaching 0.42% of an area estimated at 1.1 million acre.
Another region that started planting was the Middle-North, which advanced 0.20% in an area of 3.1 million hectares (largest in the State). In the Southeast region, the increase was 0.14% in an area of 1.9 million hectares. The Center-South region reached 0.05% from an area of 701 thousand hectares. The Northeast (1.5 million hectares), Northwest (611 thousand hectares) and North (283 thousand hectares) regions have not yet started planting.
In general, Mato Grosso advanced, last week, 0.15% of an area estimated at 9.4 million hectares. The result is 1.05 percentage points below the same period last year, when, at this time, 1.20% of the area had been planted.
