Around 1500 farmers participated in this edition of PIN – Syngenta's Integrated Productivity Program -, focused on the crop that is gaining more and more importance in Brazil
Created with the purpose of encouraging Brazilian farmers to achieve new productivity rates through the application of Soluções Integradas Syngenta protocols, PIN – Integrated Productivity – had for the first time an edition that separately involved around 1,500 off-season corn producers. At an event held in Comandatuba, Bahia, the company rewarded the 14 farmers who obtained the best yields on their crops, having achieved average results of 138 bags per hectare, against a national average of 75 bags per hectare.
The good results of the participants were made possible through the integrated solutions Granotop and Integrare Milho. The first involves producers linked to cooperatives and focuses, in addition to increasing productivity, on specific requirements regarding the quality of the grain, since its destination is usually industry. Developed after a long period of studies conducted in partnership with the University of Santa Maria (RS), the Granotop solution is integrated by hybrids, technologies and processes that aim to increase the quality of the feed that originates from grains and, consequently, the chicken that reaches consumers' tables.
The Integrare Milho solution, which involves resellers and has very similar protocols, also makes it possible to increase productivity through processes monitored, from start to finish, by technical assistance provided by Syngenta professionals.
“It is important to highlight that the application of Syngenta Integrated Solutions aims to enable the achievement of greater productivity using fewer resources and inputs, pay attention to environmental care and ensure that the producers involved receive guidance on the correct application of technologies, in a fully aligned manner. to the pillars that make up our Sustainable Agriculture Plan, The Good Growth Plan”, says William Weber, marketing manager for the company's South unit.
The total area covered by this edition of the PIN was 93 hectares of off-season corn plantation, involving the states of Paraná (mainly in the western region) and Mato Grosso do Sul. “Our objective is that next year we will have double this area”, says William.
In other words, some of the winners
First place by Copacol and great champion of this edition of the PIN, Elci Dalgalo states that “the technology and applications well guided by the Syngenta team, which also helped me with soil corrective processes, allowed me to achieve this excellent result of 181 bags per hectare in my crop – a historical average in the crop”.
Having harvested 170 bags per hectare, Jurandir Alexandre Lamb won first place among Copavel participants. “The technical support I received and the excellent response from the technology and hybrids used yielded me 25% more in average productivity. I am very satisfied with the result”, he says.
A standout among C. Vale producers, having harvested 142 bags per hectare, Nelson Neiverth declares that “not only did I harvest more, I also deepened my knowledge of the best planting techniques. I participated in PIN for the first time and now I will always participate.” Just like Pasqual Monsani, champion of LAR, who, due to the increase of 20% he obtained in his production, is certain that he will expand the area allocated to the program next year.
