Andiroba Oil is extracted from the seed of the fruit. It is composed mainly of palmitic, oleic, linoleic and stearic acids, and an unsaponifiable fraction (2 to 5%), formed mainly by terpenoids, specifically limonoids, which are the agents responsible for the biological activity of the oil.
