Even with the second half of the month, a time when consumption typically tends to fall due to the decapitalization of the population, pig prices remain firm.
In wholesale terms, in seven days, the price of pork carcasses rose by 3.8% and the product is priced at R$8.20/kg.
On farms in São Paulo, the appreciation in the same period was 5.1%. The finished animal is priced at R$103.00/@, an increase of R$5.00 per arroba in the weekly comparison.
In the annual comparison, on farms in São Paulo and wholesale, the valuations were 51.5% and 49.1%, respectively.
Remembering that in June 2018 the truck drivers' strike was damaging the supply of goods, which generated prices for pigs. In other words, if it weren't for the strike, the variations could be even greater.
Exports, which continue at a good pace, support prices in the domestic market. Until the second week of June, the volume of fresh pork exported was 2.7 thousand tons per day. The volume is 85.9% greater than that exported in June 2018 and is at the same levels as that exported last May.
If vessels continue at this pace, by the end of the month the total volume sold will be 50.7 million tons.
