Since the beginning of the war in Eastern Europe, the Romanian route has handled a third of Ukrainian agricultural exports. Furthermore, Romanian port operators have been transporting significant volumes, with an increase of 21% in the first five months of 2023 compared to the previous year.

Given the numerous statements from the Russian side that it sees no reason to extend the measure, Ukraine has raised other viable solutions so that its exports of cereals and oilseeds are not interrupted.
