Porto Alegre, November 30, 2020 – Summer corn planting for the 2020/21 harvest in Brazil reached 93.8% of the estimated area of 3.953 million hectares as of Friday (27), according to a survey by SAFRAS & Mercado.
Planting reaches 98% of the area in Rio Grande do Sul, 98.1% in Santa Catarina, 100% in Paraná, 90.2% in São Paulo, 90.8% in Mato Grosso do Sul, 94.7% in Goiás/DF, 84.8% in Minas Gerais and 94% in Mato Grosso. In the same period last year, planting was completed in 94.5% of the estimated area of 4.057 million hectares. The average planting over the last five years reached 95.6% in the period.
