The commercial laying herd in production during July has slightly increased and is approaching 93 million heads. In twelve months the growth rate was 1.4%. Even so, it remains 0.3% below that made available in July 2015, of 93.277 million.
Although the current squad has grown little, it arrives at the time of school holidays. In any case, the low temperatures of the last few days are likely to affect the chickens' production rate. For now, growth in 2017 reaches 0.8%. However, it is almost certain that the squad will continue to increase in the coming months. The strong drop in grain prices and the good performance in egg sales over the last five months contributed to this.
