APINCO's monthly survey indicates that Brazilian production of broiler chicks remains contained. Thus, last July, just over 515 million heads were produced, a volume that, although 0.08% higher than in the same month of 2016, based on the daily average was 5.26% lower than the previous month. Also based on the daily average – an indicator of the sector's real production – July's volume was the lowest in the last nine months.
After the first seven months of 2017, the accumulated volume, in the order of 3.620 billion heads, is around 5% below that achieved in the same period of 2016. Corresponding to an average production of 517.2 million monthly, this volume is projected to the 12 months of the year a total of just over 6.2 billion – 3.8% less than last year.
In the last 12 months, however, this reduction rate is slightly greater, as the 6.261 billion broiler chicks produced between August 2016 and July 2017 are 4.67% below what was produced in the same previous period.
