Despite the beginning of the month, when consumption tends to increase, the supply of eggs remains high, putting pressure on values in some markets monitored by Cepea. According to employees, the entry of free-range eggs into the market has increased, increasing competition with commercial eggs.
In the coming weeks, the volume offered should still grow, as higher temperatures favor production and reduce the quality of eggs, which would put even more pressure on values. Between August 30th and September 6th, the average price of an extra white egg, placed in Greater São Paulo, fell by 1%, with a box of 30 dozen traded at R$ 87.72 on Wednesday, 6th.
For pickup in Bastos (SP), product prices decreased by 0.8%, to R$ 82.35/cx on Wednesday.
