Cotton lint business continues at a slow pace in the Brazilian market, according to Cepea researchers. Some industries show low interest in new spot acquisitions, while others remain out of the market.
Cotton farmers are paying attention to shipments under previously signed contracts, claiming that a large part of the 2017/18 harvest has already been compromised. In this scenario, between March 12 and 19, the CEPEA/ESALQ cotton lint indicator, with payment in 8 days, fell 0.6%, closing at R$ 2.9115/lp on Tuesday, 19. In the March partial (until the 19th), the Indicator fell 0.69%.
