Deputy Alceu Moreira defended with the minister that the CNPE should seek to analyze biodiesel as the center of a public policy to benefit Brazilians and the country. According to the president of FPBio, biodiesel is a product that generates direct and indirect benefits in several areas, such as moving the economy, generating jobs, income and keeping the population in the countryside, reducing pollutant emissions, health public and cost of living.
“The CNPE is a forum for debates between ministries and government decision-making. Biodiesel must be analyzed due to all these positive effects and not just as an important and necessary fuel”, stated Alceu Moreira. “In the government I will advocate in favor of this thesis of the biodiesel sector”, stated the MDA minister in response.
Representative Orlando Silva congratulated the minister for his attitude and said he was confident that “the CNPE will propose a schedule for increasing the mixture of biodiesel to diesel in a phased manner, in accordance with the production capacity of the biodiesel industry, with predictability and legal certainty ”.
