A group of 14 rural producers and collaborators from the Famato/SENAR-MT System embarked, this Thursday (03.08), for the Agrihub Israel 2017 Mission. In addition to publicizing the Agrihub Project, the objective is to seek knowledge about new technologies for the agricultural sector and better understand the relationship between companies, startups and government entities. In total there will be 20 work meetings. The group remains full of expectations in search of knowledge and information.
Israel is a country in the Middle East that borders Lebanon, Syria, the West Bank, Jordan and Egypt and was chosen because it is considered one of the most advanced when it comes to technology. Despite being considered small, Israel is home to at least 500 companies in the science and technology sector alone. It is worth noting that at least 40% of the country's budget is allocated to scientific progress.
Since its founding, Israel has invested in research. First to solve the difficulties encountered on his infertile land and then he ended up becoming a pioneer in agricultural biotechnology, drip irrigation, soil solarization, recycling of sewage water for agricultural use and use of the huge underground reservoir of brackish water in the Negev .
Mato Grosso producers who participate in this mission are interested in learning more about all the innovations used in the development of each of these technologies. The idea is to bring knowledge and information to add to both the Agrihub project and rural properties.
The group's expectations are high. One of the visits will be at Trendlines Agtech – Incubator that discovers, invests and incubates technology companies in the medical and agricultural areas. The chosen companies receive support to maximize their opportunities for success. Trendlines helps with planning mergers and acquisitions and ranking on Stock Exchanges. Since 2007, when it began its activities, it has incubated more than 60 companies. The goal is to invest between eight and 10 companies per year.
Another visit that is being eagerly awaited is that of the Volcani Center – ARO: Agricultural Research Organization, located on the Volcani Center campus, in the Bet-Dagan region, close to Tel Aviv. ARO coordinates six Institutes, responsible for Plant Science, Animal Science, Plant Protection, Soil Science, Water and Environment, Agricultural Engineering and Post-Harvest and Food Sciences. ARO also operates four research stations in different regions of the country and serves as a testing center for agricultural production and equipment.
