According to a note released by the Agricultural Defense Agency of Paraná (Adapar), still on Saturday, when the first case in the State had been confirmed, in the Municipality of Antonina, surveillance actions in domestic and wild bird populations throughout the State were intensified, especially in the regions related to this specific case. “Depending on the evolution of investigations and the epidemiological scenario, new measures may be adopted by Adapar to prevent the spread of the disease and protect poultry farming in Paraná.”
Adapar also adds that “there are no commercial production properties within a 10-kilometer radius of the focus located in Antonina. The coast of Paraná does not have significant commercial poultry production, being far from places with intensive production. Other investigations into wild birds are ongoing in Paraná.”
