Conab wheat auction does not attract interested parties

Only 5.23 thousand tons of wheat were traded in the auction promoted by Conab (National Supply Company) this Wednesday (03/08). The result represented the sale of just 2.1% of the 250 thousand ton supply – meaning 97.9% of rejection.

The senior analyst at Consultoria Trigo & Farinhas described the initiative as “a big disappointment”, and recalled that he had already warned his clients that this would be the case. The deals were made only in the Pepro modality (Equalizer Premium Paid to the Producer), which offered 170 thousand tons.

50 thousand tons were made available in Paraná and 120 thousand tons in RS, but only wheat from Rio Grande do Sul was traded. There was no interest in PEP (Product Outflow Premium) offers.
