The Department of Rural Economy (Deral), linked to the State Secretariat for Agriculture and Supply of Paraná (SEAB), reported that summer corn crops for the 2022/23 harvest are divided between the phases of vegetative growth (21%), flowering (35%), fruiting (40%) and maturation (4%). At the moment, 79% of crops are in good development conditions, 18% are in average condition and 3% are poor in the cultivated area of 383.9 thousand hectares. It should be 10% short of the 432.1 thousand hectares cultivated in the 2021/22 summer harvest.
On December 19, 82% of the crops were in good condition, 16% in average condition and 2% in poor condition, with 38% in the vegetative growth phase, 36% in flowering, 25% in fruiting and 1% in maturation.

The 2022/23 summer corn harvest in Paraná is estimated at 3.734 million tons, an increase of 25% compared to the 2.963 million tons harvested in the 1st 2021/22 harvest. Productivity for the 1st harvest 2022/23 is estimated at 9,727 kilos per hectare, above the 7,005 kilos per hectare of the previous harvest (2021/22).
Bean
For beans, Deral reported that the harvest of the 1st harvest 2022/23 reached 15% in the state. The crops are divided between the phases of vegetative growth (8%), flowering (21%), fruiting (42%) and maturation (29%), with 61% in good conditions, 36% in average conditions and 3% poor.
On December 19, the harvest reached 7% of the area, with 61% from crops in good condition, 35% in average condition and 4% in poor condition, with 15% from crops in the vegetative growth phase, 35% in flowering, 35% in fruiting and 15% in maturation .
Deral estimated that production of the 1st bean harvest in 2022/23 should reach 203.2 thousand tons, 4% above the 195.6 thousand tons in the previous harvest (2021/22).
The planted area in the 1st harvest 2022/23 was estimated at 110.3 thousand hectares, 21% below the 139.3 thousand hectares planted in the previous harvest (2021/22). Productivity is estimated at 1,842 kilos per hectare, up from 1,404 kilos per hectare in the 2021/22 harvest.
