Analysis firm Informa Economics on Thursday raised its forecasts for US corn and soybean harvests, market sources said.
The country, the largest global producer of both commodities, is in the soybean and corn harvesting phase. Informa estimated the 2017 corn harvest at 14.182 billion bushels, with an average yield of 170.5 bushels per acre.
The soybean harvest was estimated at 4.474 billion bushels, with an average yield of 50 bushels per acre. An Informa representative was not immediately available to comment on the figures.
In mid-September, Informa had estimated the corn harvest at 14.115 billion bushels, with a yield of 169.7 bushels per acre and the soybean harvest at 4.470 billion bushels, with a yield of 49.9 bushels per acre.
