Investors and experts in energy transition attended a panel on an atlas launched at COP 28 that deals with the production of green hydrogen in Bahia. The governor of Bahia, Jerônimo Rodrigues, said that the data will help in actions to achieve the production of 66 million tons of fuel in the state in the future.

The breakdown of the water molecule to capture hydrogen is done with clean energy, which is why we call it green hydrogen. Jerônimo informed that the process will use only 2% of reused water, causing the least possible environmental impact.

Former governor of Bahia, senator Jaques Wagner (PT-BA) participated in the debate. He was the state's pioneer in releasing data on renewable energy and believes that the country will lead this production chain.

International recognition at COP 28: Brazilian nitrogen fertilizer receives UN award for green hydrogen and ammonia project in Bahia

“A time has begun in which we attract investments, because we don't put our hats where they can't reach. In general, we offer what is possible to deliver and I think this has created credibility in these new times in Bahia, which is fundamental.”

During COP 28, the largest Brazilian manufacturer of nitrogen fertilizers received an award from the UN. The recognition was, therefore, for the project to build a green hydrogen and green ammonia factory in Camaçari (BA).

Senator Efraim Filho (União-PB), in turn, praised the Brazilian energy transition. He highlighted that Brazil thus serves as an example, with the Northeast playing a crucial role in the production of clean energy.

According to the senator, the Northeast, which previously did not have the necessary conditions to compete in the industry, today finds renewable energy a great economic vocation.
