Global Agribusiness Forum 2022 will debate the challenges of the international agribusiness agenda

ENTITIES, SPECIALISTS AND AUTHORITIES WILL ADDRESS TOPICS SUCH AS FOOD SAFETY, CLIMATE CHANGE AND SUSTAINABILITY IN THE POST-PANDEMIC WORLD

The fifth edition of the Global Agribusiness Forum (GAF) – one of the main agribusiness meetings in the world – will take place on July 25th and 26th, 2022, in São Paulo, at the Sheraton WTC Hotel. The biannual event with free online broadcast will be jointly promoted by Brazilian Rural Society – SRB, Brazilian Corn Producers Association – ABRAMILHO, International Corn Alliance – MAIZALL, Zebu Cattle Breeders Association – ABCZ, Brazilian Association of Fruit and Fruit Products Exporters – ABRAFRUTAS, O National Sugar Energy Forum, National Ethanol and Corn Union – UNEM, Brazilian Animal Protein Association – ABPA and the DATA, agricultural consultancy in Brazil.

The 2022 edition, which integrates agribusiness efforts to overcome the challenge of feeding the global population in the coming decades, will have the theme “Food Security, Climate Change and Sustainability”. Under these three main fronts, the event will bring national and international panelists and authorities, such as Ambassador Alexandre Parola, Permanent Representative of Brazil to the WTO; Ambassador Roberto Carvalho de Azevêdo, former Director General of the WTO and Director of Corporate Affairs and President of the PepsiCo Foundation; Dr Seth Meyer, Chief Economist – USDA; Dr Edwini Kessie, Director of the Agriculture and Commodities Division, WTO – World Trade Organization; Pablo Di Si, Executive President of Volkswagen Latin America; Giulia Di Tommaso, President and CEO CropLife International; Janelle Meyers, Director of Sustainability Kellogg Company; Arnaud Petit, Executive Director IGC – International Grains Council; Hsia Hua Sheng, Vice President, Bank of China, among others.

Experts will promote great debates and topics such as: The world's agricultural challenges; The challenge of feeding the world by 2050; Biotechnology, food security and sustainability; Circular economy and reduction of food waste; Business environment and market access; Global perspective until 2050; The challenge of sustainable production in a time of conflict; The future of world trade; Biofuels and the future of mobility; The complementarity between family and business agriculture.

In 2018, in the last meeting before the Covid-19 pandemic, the Global Agribusiness Forum brought together more than 3200 participants from 62 countries, 73 international speakers, 13 ministers of state for agriculture and two former ministers. Furthermore, it had the support of 103 professional associations and governments, and stood out for promoting debates and raising issues of great importance for the development and growth of the sector. In past editions, the GAF also had the presence of representatives such as Michel Temer, former president of the Republic of Brazil; Al Gore, former vice president of the United States and Nobel Prize winner; Lawrence Summers, former US Treasury Secretary; businessman Abílio Diniz, president of the Board of Directors of BRFoods; among other distinguished representatives and experts from the public and private sectors of global agribusiness.
