At the meeting, the priority agendas for the biodiesel sector were discussed.the priority agendas for the biodiesel sector were discussed. The objective is to encourage the development of this sector. The agenda of predictability for the biodiesel industry, Brazilian energy independence and generation of jobs and income also received attention.
“Biodiesel is not just a source of clean energy. It drives sustainable development and plays a crucial role in decarbonizing the energy matrix. Furthermore, it promotes food security and creates employment opportunities, strengthening social ties”, stated the president of the National Commission for Cereals, Fibers and Oilseeds of the Confederation, Ricardo Arioli.
According to him, biodiesel production has positive impacts, as it reduces dependence on foreign fuels and, in addition, affects the supply of soybean meal on the domestic market. This byproduct is crucial for feed, affecting the production costs of animal proteins such as pork, fish, chicken and eggs.
In the opinion of the president of the Front, Federal Deputy Alceu Moreira, the sector needs a Ten-Year Plan to stimulate the expansion of biodiesel in Brazil. After all, with this proposal, we will guarantee legal security and predictability for the sector, increase the production capacity of industrial plants and consolidate Brazil's sustainable agenda.
Still, according to the deputy, biodiesel has the potential to embrace a broad public policy to generate economic, social and environmental benefits for Brazilians.
