Chicken/Cepea: Greater internal liquidity and exports boost meat prices

Chicken meat prices rose in the first days of September, after five consecutive months of decline. According to Cepea researchers, this scenario is linked to the higher pace of commercialization in the domestic market and the good results of exports in August, which reached a record for the month in the entire Secex historical series, of 382.7 thousand tons, an increase of 8% compared to July and 16.4% compared to the same period last year.

Between August 30th and September 6th, whole frozen chicken increased in value by 4.9% in the wholesale market in Greater São Paulo, closing at R$ 3.44/kg on Wednesday, 6th. The price of chilled chicken, in turn, rose 2.2% in the period, to R$ 3.46/kg on day 6.
