The market price for live chicken reached a nominal record last year, at R$3.40 per kilogram. The offers on the farm are adjusted, which makes it possible to improve prices. This was the eighth increase recorded in the month. At wholesale, however, signs of a decrease in sales have already been reflected in prices this past week. The carcass fell by 2.2% in the period, and is quoted, on average, at R$4.35 per kilo. For the next few days, prices in the wholesale market should remain calm, a common scenario for the period. However, if retailers purchase more diligently to replenish their stocks for the turn of the month, valuations cannot be ruled out, due to the fair supply of chickens for slaughter.
