The 2019 AOCS Latin American Congress and Exposition on Oils, Fats and Lipids will equip attendees with tools and solutions to improve efficiency, quality and safety in the fats and oils industry. Sessions are organized around eight tracks – including food functionality, processing and refining, and quality control and analytical techniques – so participants can learn about new research and technologies in specific areas.
The Congress will be held from October 8th to 11th, 2019 at the Bourbon Cataratas Convention & Spa Resort in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil. The presentations will be presented simultaneously in English, Portuguese and Spanish. Online registration for the Congress ends on September 27th.
Dr. Héctor Autino, Bunge América do Sul and ASAGA, Argentina, will open the Congress, sharing ideas on the production of grains, oilseeds, oils and by-products in an international context, with a focus on Mercosur. It will also show characteristics and highlights of crushing plants with greater production capacity.
In addition to the technical sessions, the Congress will host 30 companies at the sold-out exhibition. These companies represent the industry's leading suppliers of supplies and services. The Exhibition will be the networking hub at the Congress, with several events where attendees can visit poster authors and connect with new colleagues.
For those wishing to explore the local area, there will be an excursion to Iguaçu National Park with the Macuco Safari Boat Tour on the last day of the Congress. The tour includes a walking tour led by a local guide before heading downriver for an exciting boat ride past Iguazu Falls.
The AOCS (American Society of Petroleum Chemists) advances lipid science and technology in the fats and oils industry through analytical methods, proficiency testing, peer-reviewed technical publishing, and by providing venues for technical discussions and educational opportunities.
