Ukraine's grain exports in the 2019/20 season of July and June have seen an increase of around 29% year-on-year to date, reaching 35 million tonnes by January 27, the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture this Monday.
The increase in exports has been driven by greater shipments of wheat and corn, according to the government.
Wheat exports grew by 4.2 million tonnes, to 15.6 million tonnes, according to a statement from the ministry.
Ukraine also exported 3.85 million tonnes of barley and 15.1 million tonnes of corn, the ministry said.
The country harvested a record 75 million tons of grain in 2019, compared to 70 million in 2018.
