Ukraine’s grain exports in the July-June 2024/25 season totaled 13 million metric tons as of October 21, according to data released by the Agriculture Ministry. This is significantly higher than the 8.3 million tons exported in the same period in 2023.

To ensure domestic supplies, the Ukrainian government and agricultural associations have decided to set a limit on wheat exports in the 2024/25 season, set at 16.2 million tons. So far, traders have already used 44.5% of this quota. In addition, it is important to note that there are no restrictions on the export of other agricultural commodities yet.
In relation to October 2024, the country exported around 2.6 million tons of grains, while in the same period of the previous year this number was 1.6 million tons.
Grain and Oilseed Production
The Ministry of Agriculture also reported that the combined grain and oilseed harvest in 2024 is projected to be 77 million tons. Thus, 54 million tons will come exclusively from grains.
By comparison, Ukraine’s grain exports in the 2023/24 season reached 51 million tonnes. Consequently, this volume represents an increase compared to the 49.2 million tonnes exported in the previous cycle.
