Brazilian wheat exports should reach 803.8 thousand tons this month, estimated this Tuesday by the National Association of Cereal Exporters (Anec), pointing to a new record for January.
The previous maximum for the first month of the year was recorded in 2022, when the country shipped 695.95 thousand tons, given a full harvest and firm demand in the international market.

Anec's current projection still represents an increase compared to the 753.04 thousand estimated in the previous week.
The country produced 9.76 million tons in the last winter harvest, an increase of 27.2%, according to data from the National Supply Company (Conab).
Rio Grande do Sul, the main supplier of the cereal that goes to the foreign market, had an increase of just over 40% in its production, which increases the availability of the product for shipments.
Anec also raised its estimate for corn shipments in January to 5.20 million tons, compared to 5.178 million projected last week.
On the other hand, the entity, based on the schedule of ships in ports, estimated that Brazil should export 1.36 million tons of soybeans in January, a reduction compared to the previous week's forecast of 1.999 million.
The average daily Brazilian oilseed shipments plummeted in the third week of January, to 38.03 thousand tons, in a scenario of lower stocks available for export and slow start of the oilseed harvest in the 2022/23 harvest.
Anec also made a downward adjustment to its projection for soybean meal shipments, which are expected to reach 1.521 million tons in the month, compared to 1.587 million estimated a week ago.
