The climate problems faced by corn farmers in the United States could have an impact on the price of the cereal in the Brazilian market. The analysis is by the Agricultural Products manager at the National Supply Company (Conab), Thomé Guth.
With the expectation of a failure in the North American harvest, Brazilian grain exports tend to rise. The numbers indicate that more than 25 million tons of grain have already been sold in advance.
With this scenario, the outlook for the second half of the year due to the Brazilian super harvest should be reversed due to the new demand and corn prices could reach higher values.
Soy
As for the soybean market, according to Thomé Guth, the outlook for exports is uncertain. This is because, although the trade war between China and the United States still causes strong demand for Brazilian production, the Asian country is facing problems with African swine fever, which is registering a decrease in the herd and, consequently, the demand for the grain.
