The reality in Argentina, the largest supplier of wheat to Brazil, is not the same.
The wheat harvest is advancing in Rio Grande do Sul and the outlook for agricultural cooperatives in Rio Grande do Sul is for positive results for the period. According to the president of the Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (FecoAgro/RS), Paulo Pires, the climate helped maintain good productivity in this harvest.

Pires highlights that there is a prospect of a harvest of 3,300 kilos per hectare, but that it could still reach 3,600 kilos per hectare, which represents 60 bags per hectare. “The producer is still seeing results in his crops due to productivity. The producer is once again saved by productivity, his costs have increased, but productivity and the climate have helped a lot, and this is exceptional”, he highlights.
But the reality in Argentina, the largest supplier of wheat to Brazil, is not the same. The Cereals Exchange again reduced its projection for the cereal harvest, by 1.2 million tons compared to the previous report, to 14 million tons. Compared to last season (which totaled 22.4 million tons), the drop in Argentine production is a significant 37.5%.
