The weak market, typical of every end of the month, once again affected live chicken sold in Minas Gerais. Yesterday (26), for the second time this week, the price of the product fell. The difference now is that the drop was five cents, while the drop last Tuesday (24) was ten cents.
Negotiated yesterday for R$2.45/kg, live chicken from Minas Gerais dropped to the lowest price in almost a year, as prices hadn't been recorded so low since the beginning of May 2016.
The expectation, at the moment, is that the approach of a new month will begin to reverse this situation. More than that, we hope for a repeat of what happened in the second four months of last year. So, between the beginning and end of the period, live chicken increased in value by 40%.
In São Paulo, yesterday, live chicken completed 27 days of unchanged prices at R$2.50/kg. However, for part of the closed deals, this value only corresponded to a reference, as several transactions continued to be carried out at lower values.
