This Tuesday (29.11) Dow AgroSciences presented the Integrated Vegetation Management (MIV), which arrives in Brazil to assist in the challenge of controlling vegetation in the right-of-way. The solution has already been consolidated in the USA and Canada for over 50 years.
According to Dow's Special Accounts Manager, Vakeska De Laquila, the vegetation that develops in these areas can cause major losses for energy utilities, potentially causing blackouts and fires.
MIV is an efficient and sustainable solution for managing vegetation under transmission lines and encompasses the application of herbicides registered for this purpose. Furthermore, MIV also contributes to reducing CO2 emissions. By maintaining vegetation that does not bring negative interference to the operation and maintenance of transmission lines, the soil is exposed and, consequently, there is less greenhouse gas emissions.
Dow carries out periodic qualification and training for certified companies.
