With the presence of the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), Carlos Fávaro, agribusiness leaders gathered, this Monday (16), at the Bioinsumos Forum, in the capital of São Paulo, defending specific legislation for the segment. João Sereno Lammel, vice-president of Institutional Relations at Sindiveg, said that the sector has seen accelerated growth and that it needs exclusive regulation.
“The specificities of these inputs no longer fit within the current regulatory umbrella of pesticides and fertilizers”, highlighted Eduardo Leão, president of CropLife Brasil.
Fávaro pointed out that bioinputs will play a great role in controlling pests and diseases, considering efficiency and protection of human health and the environment. According to the minister, Embrapa, for example, is developing an innovation network aimed at the segment.
