Last week, the soybean market in Mato Grosso showed movements, with emphasis on the devaluation of bran and the rise in oil prices. The variations are directly related to global events and preparations for the next harvest in the state. According to the bulletin from the Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (IMEA), the average price of soybean meal in Mato Grosso fell 1.23% compared to the previous week. It now stands at R$ 2,134.44 per tonne. This reduction is therefore attributed to the drop in the value of the by-product in Chicago, which recorded a decrease of 1.42%, ending the week with an average of US$ 459.17 per ton.

With the soybean harvest approaching in the state, the demand for diesel grew. This motivated refineries to expand their stocks to meet future needs. However, the current movement has boosted oil prices soy oil. Last week, there was an increase of 0.37%. The average price therefore reached R$ 4,519.92 per tonne.

According to the Institute, it is crucial to remember that the average prices of bran and oil in Mato Grosso are lower compared to the previous year. There was a devaluation of 11.86% in the price of bran and a drop of 35.08% in the price of soybean oil compared to the same previous period.
