Live chicken traded in the interior of São Paulo ended the fourth week of April (22nd) completing the twenty-third day with the same price – R$2.50/kg. But still trading at lower values, as has been the case since it was lowered to its current price on March 31st.
It is interesting to note that, at the beginning of the month and for the first eleven days of April, the price achieved for live chicken was almost 11% lower than that recorded a year ago. In the last three trading days of last week, this loss was reduced to 3.85% and is now at risk of being reset at the weekend. All because, in April 2016, the month ended with prices more than 10% lower than those at the beginning of the month and, this April, the trend is towards stability until the end of the period.
In any case, if this stability is confirmed, the average value for April will be almost 7% below the average recorded a year ago. In other words: far below the inflation of the period, but under production conditions (read: cost) much more favorable than those of a year ago.
