On farms in São Paulo, the pig market recovered slightly last week. The price of finished pigs is quoted, on average, at R$77.00, an increase of 1.3% in the period.
Some producers showed a certain reduction in offers, which ended up generating price adjustments.
However, volumes sold wholesale did not increase at any point this month, even though it was in the first fortnight, where we commonly see greater movement in the market.
The special carcass remained priced at R$6.00/kg.
The good news is the recent reductions in the price of corn, the main input used in food, which improved the purchasing power of pig farmers during the period. Currently, in Campinas-SP it is possible to buy 6.08 kilos of corn with one kilo of pork, an improvement of 6.3% compared to last week.
In the short term, no positive changes in prices in the pork market are expected, given the low domestic demand for the product.
