Paddy rice prices continue to fall in Rio Grande do Sul, despite the off-season. According to Cepea researchers, the devaluations reflect the decline in sales by part of the industry and the greater volume offered by some rice farmers, who, apprehensive about the devaluations, made lots available to “make cash” and meet harvest commitments.
Thus, between September 19th and 26th, the ESALQ/SENAR-RS Indicator, 58% whole grains, fell 2.17%, closing at R$ 36.72/50 kg bag on the 26th, the lowest nominal value since September/15.
