With the lengthening of slaughter schedules in the state of Mato Grosso, the price of cattle fell by 0.87% in the weekly comparison and stood at an average of R$247.53/@. With the greater number of females being offered for slaughter, the price of fat cows fell by 1.17% compared to the previous week and closed at an average of R$232.20/@.
In the case of replacement animals, the few negotiations and a lot of supply in the Mato Grosso market, the price of yearling calves fell by 3.82% compared to last week and was traded at an average of R $2,249.99/head.

According to a survey by the Mato-Grossense Institute of Agricultural Economics (IMEA), the average price of arroba fell by 3.91% in the annual comparison, reflecting the situation of greater supply of cattle available and the domestic market that remained stagnant during the period.
Despite the well-supplied animal market, the state of São Paulo, as it has a high consumer center and is the largest meat exporting hub in the country – mainly to China, recorded an increase of 4.50% in the price of live cattle in 2022 compared to 2021.
“This difference between the markets resulted in the lengthening of the base differential, which closed at an average of -13,33% in 2022 – which represents an increase of 7.48 pp in the annual comparison. Thus, in 2022, live cattle were sold at R$ 278.12/@ and R$ 316.13/@ (free values from Funrural), in the markets of Mato Grosso and São Paulo, respectively,” the institute reported.
