The state of Rio Grande do Sul has rumors of new purchases of imported corn, according to information released by TF Agroeconomic. “Although the parity account has worsened a little compared to recent weeks, we still hear rumors of imported corn being closed by buyers, as there are almost no more lots in the State. In the Northwest, large quantities would have been closed at US$ 292.00 per ton, which in today's market would be around R$ 91.27 per bag, due to conversion”, he comments.

In Santa Catarina, which is threatened by the leafhopper, the corn market is slow. ” Additionally, an application for cell phones is being built, seeking to facilitate the dissemination of such information. Nominations have dropped, a lot, in the last few days in Santa Catarina. Well-supplied buyers have even more reasons not to buy, given the various shutdown points throughout the state. In the Midwest, there were indications of buying between R$ 91.00 and R$ 92.00 per bag, and sellers starting at R$ 97.00”, adds the consultancy.
Just like the neighboring state, Paraná is empty of businesses. “The lots hid during this week's closure in the State and all that was heard were just indications for the corn. Producers, in their last breath, seem to only accept values between R$ 100.00 or above for a bag of cereal. Indications in Campos Gerais at R$ 95.00, in the west at R$ 94.00, and industries near Ponta Grossa seek corn at R$ 92.00 for delivery in February 2022”, concludes the agroeconomic consultancy, at the beginning of the week.
