The soybean harvest in Mato Grosso, until last Friday (12/01), reached an expressive 6.46% of the total predicted area, registering a notable weekly advance of 3.33 percentage points, according to data provided by the Instituto Mato-Grossense de Agricultural Economics (Imea). This weekly progress represents the highest value ever recorded by Imea for this period, marking a trend towards anticipation in field activities.
The shortening of the soybean cycle in certain areas, resulting from climatic adversities. This is especially true in regions where the cultivation of cotton in the second harvest, it influenced the accelerated progress in harvesting operations. Among the highlighted regions, the west and the mid-north stood out, reaching 13,15% and 8,48% of the predicted areas, respectively.
With regard to the average productivity of areas harvested last week, the weekly indicator performed considerably below the historical averages of previous cycles. This scenario was predicted due to the challenges faced with the drought in early areas of Mato Grosso. Consequently, the average weekly yield of harvested areas closed at 39.25 bags per hectare in the state, according to information provided by Institute sources.
