The working group will have 120 days to produce a draft of the national fertilizer plan to be presented to the president of the republic.

Brazil imports more than 80% of fertilizers used in agribusiness, therefore, the federal government intends to develop a policy to expand national production of agricultural fertilizers and reduce dependence on imports of the product. An interministerial working group (GT) was established to discuss the topic.
The meeting that took place on Tuesday at Palácio do Planalto, was attended by the Minister of Agriculture, Tereza Cristina “Brazil's agricultural production is increasing year after year, but it is hugely dependent on imports of phosphorus and potassium, mainly ”, explains the minister.
