The Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services released, through the Secretariat of Foreign Trade, its weekly report that highlights the accumulated exports of various agricultural products until the first week of September.
In these 4 working days of the month, Brazil exported 1,890,776.1 tons of unground corn, increasing 15% from what was recorded in the last week of August 2020 and already standing at 29% of all recorded in the 21 days of the month previous.
As a result, the daily average of shipments is 472,694 tons, 53% higher than last month's average. Compared to the same period last year, the average daily exports was 54% higher than the 306,770.1 in September 2019.

In financial terms, Brazil has already exported a total of US$ 321.077 million in the period, compared to US$ 1.064 billion in all of September last year. As for the daily average, the current month accounts for an increase of 58.28%, resulting in US$ 80,269.3 per working day compared to US$ 50,712.1 in September last year.
The price per ton obtained also registered an increase of 2.72% in the period, rising from US$ 165.3 last year to US$ 169.8 this month of September.
The president of Abramilho (Brazilian Association of Corn Producers), Cesário Ramalho da Silva, estimates that, for this year, around 30 million tons are already committed for exports shipped by the end of 2020, with this volume being able to grow even more , as there is international appetite for the grain.
From January to August, the main destinations for the 13.764 million tons of Brazilian corn were Iran (12%), Taiwan (10%), Japan (8.6%), Vietnam (8.4%), Spain (8.2%), Egypt ( 8.1%) and South Korea (7.8%. In origin, the Brazilian cereal exported came, in its majority, from Mato Grosso (68.8%), followed by Goiás, Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná and Mato Grosso do South.
