According to data from the Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services, revenue from Brazilian beef exports increased by 5.5% from January to August this year, compared to the same period last year, reaching US$3.78 billion.
The increase was mainly driven by the increase in sales of fresh meat and salted meat. In the last eight months, revenue from the sale of salted meat was US$22.90 million and that from fresh meat was US$3.15 billion.
The volume of fresh meat shipped from January to August 2017 was 754.98 thousand tons, 2.31 TP3T more compared to the same period in 2016
