This Tuesday, the National Association of Cereal Exporters (Anec) estimated shipments of corn from Brazil to abroad in January at 3.73 million tons, representing an increase of 400 thousand tons compared to the previous week's estimate.
Even so, shipments are expected to fall in the annual comparison, when the country exported 4.86 million tons. In 2023, with the local industry paying more for cereal than exports, external flows decreased, according to Anec.
Brazil's soybean meal exports are expected to reach 2.03 million tons in January, an increase of 280 thousand tons compared to the previous week's forecast. As a result, shipments should exceed the 1.43 million tons seen in the same month of the previous year.
Anec maintained export projections for soybeans (1.30 million tons) and wheat (605 thousand tons) for January, stable compared to the previous week.
For soybeans, shipments will exceed 940 thousand tons from January last year, due to higher stocks, it was reported last week.
