AGCO lidera exportação de equipamentos agrícolas
Multinational receives award that highlights its importance as an exporter. Tribute will be held tomorrow (10), during the 2nd South Foreign Trade Forum

AGCO, a global manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment, will receive the Sul for Export Award, promoted by the Instituto and Revista Ajante. The award highlights export leaders based on official indicators from the Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services. The company is the first in the agricultural machinery segment and is in 43rd place in the ranking of the 90 largest exporters in the South Region. The ceremony will be held tomorrow (10), during the 2nd South Foreign Trade Forum, which takes place in Federation of Industries of the State of Paraná (Fiep).

“It is an honor to have our work recognized. AGCO holds 55% of market share in the South American export market, and because of this we reaffirm our strong position in the segment”, says Werner Santos, vice president of sales and marketing AGCO South America.

In addition to large export markets, such as Chile, Bolivia and Argentina, AGCO has also expanded its operations on the African continent. The company continues to invest in Zambia, where it created Fazenda do Futuro, which aims to develop a sustainable food production system, capable of increasing agricultural performance, using resources more efficiently. “As the local population is expected to increase to 2 billion by 2050, the need to mechanize properties and train the next generations in agriculture has never been greater. We believe in Africa's enormous potential and are committed to the region's agricultural growth, so our mission is to provide the best solutions for the continent”, explains Santos.

The South Foreign Trade Forum aims to encourage the exchange of experience between companies and discuss relevant topics related to exports. In its second edition, the event will be attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Serra, who will address the guidelines for Brazilian foreign trade in the new government, and Guilherme Afif Domingos, president of Sebrae Nacional, who will present his vision on the benefits the incorporation of small exporters. The forum will also discuss the redesign of global trade agreements with the presence of representatives from the Federations of Industries of Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. The opening will be made by the governor of the State of Paraná, Beto Richa, among others guests.
