Preliminary estimates from APK-Inform for the 2023/24 harvest indicate that Ukraine's sunflower oil production and export potential could reach the lowest level since the 2016/17 season.

“Overall, in terms of competition in the global sunflower oil market, it is worth noting that while inspections of ships on the Russian side in the grain corridor are being postponed and the operation of the Pivdennyi port is completely blocked, there is a gradual increase in the presence of Russian sunflower oil in the Indian and Chinese markets. While Ukraine is gradually increasing its exports to China in the current season, it is losing its position in the Indian market”, highlights Svitlana Kyrychok, market analyst.
